I believe the expression is “Hello World”! Welcome to my first blog. The next step would be for me to introduce myself, but since you are on my website, here is a simple link to my about page. The idea for this blog came from one of my professors at the University of Cincinnati where I am finishing up my MBA in International Business & Marketing. His name is Drew Boyd. I highly encourage you to visit his website and learn about a cool innovation concept called S.I.T.
I was meeting with professor Boyd a month or so back and as he learned more about my diverse background and career, he interrupted me and said “with your array of experiences, you should definitely start a blog. People can benefit from your previous successes, and it will allow you to do more of what you like to do”. I must admit, I thought this was a stupid idea at first, and figured it would be a waste of time. But after thinking through it, I decided that I was going to make it a priority and I was going to post a blog once a week on my website. This blog is titled “Changing Your Lens”, primarily in the sectors of business and technology.
Throughout my career, I have had a lot of influencers and read and heard words of wisdom from some fascinating people, but this concept of “Changing Your Lens” really resonated with me. I wish I could remember where I learned it, but if I do recall, I will be sure to post the credit in a future post.
Changing Your Lens is really about taking a step back and looking at a challenge from a different angle or perspective. Too many times leaders try to conform to a box and stay on the same path, and become victims of analysis/paralysis. Alternatively by simply taking a step back and evaluating a different view or considering other opinions, typically reveals a better overall solution.
This blog will primarily contain information regarding business (domestic and international), technology best cases, finance, leadership, and startup topics, but I am sure I will sprinkle some other topics in as well.
If you have a topic you would like me to cover, please reach out to me.
